I've been to the Keg, Cambridge many times and never been disappointed. The food is always excellent and cooked exactly as I like it, though it's not cheap, averaging about $40/$50 a head for starter, main and dessert. Staff are friendly and for the most part attentive and efficient. I'm sure I'll be back there soon and remember if it's your "birthday" you get a free dessert.
So first and foremost... The restaurant was way too dark. I understand ambience but it was absolutely ridiculous.I don't understand why the chef's do not season their vegetables. Sure you can steam asparagus. You can steam asparagus all day for all I care. You still have to add salt and pepper at least!The service was exceedingly slow, the wine recommendations were not at all what we wanted. I ended up going with what I picked in the first place so I'm not sure if the servers are told to push a certain wine...Definitely not coming back. Not worth it.
Always great. The escargot is my favorite, and the prime rib was delicious as always. Took a little long to get our food, but not so long that I would dock a star. My wife loved her blue cheese filet, which looked great.
Nice atmosphere, kind and attentive servers. The food was amazing. I had the 12oz top sirloin, rare, and my steak was cooked perfectly. The meal was great. My boyfriend had the prime rib and twice baked potato and had nothing but good things to say. I think I'll be trying the prime rib next time as well.
Went here for a birthday dinner and it was fantastic. The portions you get is amazing and everything is cooked perfectly. If your going hands down try the mushrooms they are so good ! We had the prime rib and it was the best I have had in a long time. Thank you for a great meal
